Sharon Bradley, RLA

 

Sharon Bradley, founder of Bradley Site Design, Inc., has been designing prominent public spaces and institutions of cultural and historic significance in  the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 37 years. She is committed to creating equitable, sustainable landscapes that seamlessly mesh sound engineering with inspiring design to give character and vitality to urban spaces. 

Actively involved in every phase of BSD projects, Sharon has developed a unique business model that addresses social, economic and ecological issues for a more comprehensive approach to design. She created BSD in 1994 to focus on projects that have a positive impact on urban communities. She and the BSD team were the first landscape architects to receive the DC Mayor’s prestigious Environmental Excellence Award, and recently won ASLA’s Social Impact Award and DOEE’s Sustainability Award.

Sharon serves on Baltimore’s Urban Design and Architecture Advisory Panel, design juries for architecture and landscape architecture studios at Catholic University of America and Penn State University, and lectures at universities and conferences around the region. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at Virginia Tech, basing her research on her Design for Impact program, a new design methodology.
