Recent mixed-use projects include:

50 Florida Avenue Washington, DC

For this mixed-use project in the heart of the NoMa Business Improvement District, BSD designed streetscapes and plazas that comply with the stringent guidelines for the area, while providing some innovative amenities. A second-floor pool terrace features a multi-level swimming pool, waterfall, planted areas and entertainment space. BSD worked with the development team to detail this complex set of spaces over structure. For the streetscapes and street-level plaza, multiple DC agencies were involved in the permit process and BSD facilitated the passage of the project through the necessary stages of approvals and reviews. The project will offer 182 luxury condo units and 8,000sf of retail space.

2000 Clarendon Boulevard Arlington, Virginia

This high-end mixed-use project will provide 90 residential units and ground floor retail in a lively area of Arlington. BSD designed streetscapes, luxurious pool terraces and entertainment spaces, all above structure. Each area is lushly planted with native materials, and features high-quality site furnishings, lighting and finishes. The team produced a full permit set in compliance with the Arlington County standards.

The Dancing Crab Washington, DC

In the DC neighborhood of Tenleytown, the popular restaurant, The Dancing Crab, is being replaced by a mixed-use building that will incorporate the restaurant on the ground floor, market-rate residential units and a vibrant rooftop restaurant and bar. BSD worked with the Miami clients to create spaces with an exotic flair, incorporating a rich palette of materials, murals, living walls and luxuriant furnishings.

816-818 Potomac Avenue Washington, DC

A combination of new construction and historic renovation, this complex project has involved multiple DC agencies. BSD has created elegant outdoor spaces that include public art and a palette of planting and materials that respects the historic context. Green roofs, terraces, walkways and planted areas have been designed along with streetscapes in compliance with DDOT standards.
